My teacher once asked me to use "archaic" in a sentence. I said "we can't have archaic and eat it."

A linguistics professor was lecturing to his English class one day. "In English," he said, "a double negative forms a positive. In some languages, though, such as Russian, a double negative is still a negative. However, there is no language wherein a double positive can form a negative."

 I like that! As my better half has languages as a profession, and I'm just interested in them in a modest way, jokes like that make me feel smart. "Hey, I understood that!" :o)
