"Anyone who bought it for less than $41won't be able to update. Toontrack would like apologise but that's just the way it is."

BTW the updater is in my ToonTrack account so there :P

now I just need to figure out which of the 6 mix packs to get.  ugh decisions decisions.

Tell us what kind of music you do and we can give you a few ideas.

POP, Electronic, orchestrated music.

80s synth pop, alternative rock.  trying to learn to orchestrate and do soundtrack scores.

I would think the Mix Toolbox, Alternative would work for you. Any of the "not metal" Producer packs have a good mix. The Producers packs all have a lot of Drums, bass, guitar and vocals. Same with Core Expansion. All of the packs have the presets listed at the Toontrack site. I really like the ambient pack. They all have audio examples so you can hear what the do. I don't know if the Electronic pack would work for you. It seems to be mostly drums. They really should come out with a pack for working with loops. And they should have a keyboards pack. I would be surprised if the did not come out with those two in the near future.

Bass - thanks.  I will spend some time on the site and listen to demos and read the preset list.

those seem like good starting packs to work with, I can learn what works and doesn't as I use them.

I am really looking forward to dissecting the chains that are setup and learning a bit more.

Bassdaddy, a keyboards-pack would be welcome. How broadly useful did you find the Ambient one? I see that 30 of the 50 presets are for electric guitar, bass and drums or percussion.
