The Maillard Reaction

I like it.

Can you tell me how you are getting the scratch sounds? Is it actual dj spinning on a disk or LP or did you have some cool sampler type solution?

I thought the textures stayed fresh throughout.

What's next?

Is this a remix of Pink Floyds - Several Species of Small Furry Animal Gathered Together in a Cave and Grooving with a Pict?

I agree with Wookiee in that something else to contrast this with would be useful.

Somebody said a sentence which contained the word Soundscape. That sounds all posh, and grand so it must have stirred something up somewhere.

Well done.

Isn't everyone in Europe more Posh than America? The Uk has Sir George. Does it get any more Posh than him? McCartney did allude that Mrs. Sir George was more Posh than Mr.

Posh ...... Man .. I love that word.

Bapu ain't Posh though.

He may  be Polish....I dunno

POSH ...hahahahahahahahaha love it

Well, as much as I would like to join the PP beating here, I would be being dishonest if I would say I didn't like it.
For a percussion track, I found it exceptional. I would like to hear a few melodic instruments in there. A steel drum melody here and there would top it off nicely. I found all the different percussion sounds and changes to be very artistic.
As for the mix, JMO but I've always held HH and electronica to a higher standard of production. The sound here is not bad perhaps a good mastering engineer could get the clarity and punch lacking here for this kind of music but I think a bit more eq and compression work would make it shine.

I think you still owe me and Strummy a tour jacket.

Cmon man you've been gone for years fill us in.....Have you moved on to another DAW or are you still waiting for Cake to fix the driver so you can record in Guitar Tracks 3 with your realtek card?

Maybe I am wrong, but I noticed a slight shift in Pete's tone on a critique... it was actually constructive and not at all biting. Perhaps he now has a bit of a better understanding of what it means to put yourself on the line (though I am not sure it was before or after he posted this). I want to give him the benefit of the doubt. Hope I am not being foolish in that. FWIW a few weeks ago, somebody posted a song that was done using their onboard realtek. It was surprising as it was no worse than many others here. So it can be done (and I have always agreed with Pete that any sound card should work, even onboard).

I loved it! I do wish there would have been guitars in there SOMEWHERE. Now the karma is level and all is well. Thanks Pete for the post!

Jonbouy and I have always maintained that for mixing, any old sound card will do (given decent listening device; i.e. headphones/speakers). I even released at least one iteration of two different CHB songs that were mixed on my old Dell Laptop (8.5.23 SONAR days) with an on board soundcard when I was away from the main DAW*. And that is because the export DOES NOT go through the sound card it is truly ITB.

It's when you get into recording that the on boards can be troublesome due to latency, quality and limited inputs. Typically the onbaord cards have terrible AtoD converters just decent enough for simple speech (IMO).

*When I got back to the MAIN DAW I then moved the entire project from the laptop to the DAW and exported again. Guess what the null test showed be (audibly)??? No... go on, guess. OK, I'll tell you. The two files were the identical.
