Hi Ed

I tried sending you a PM but........

Have fun with it! I left you lots of headroom with the mixdown. Don't worry about lining up the beginning, "I am the god of all hell's fire. And I bring you fire." Do keep the wav file the same length and dry. I'll just keep the same settings on my vocal track except tweak the eq and copressor for your voice. I'm looking forward to hearing what you do!

This is seriously warped-and I mean that in the best way.  You made this your own.  I actually like your laconic singing on this, it fits for some reason.  Good job in the instruments and good mix.

I recommend getting real drunk, lighting your head on fire using an old hat and some lighter fluid,  and re doing the vocals...I think you'd nail it in one take,, which might be the only chance you'd get before running for help...
I remember seeing that guy on TV when the song came out, As punk teenage musicians we were inspired!

Good job but where's the big organ? I seem to remember that was the main sound of the song..

I thought you put forth a great effort. They are going to try to recruit you into the coffeehouse band as their next lead singer! I thought the evil laugh was great!

I remember the first time I heard this on the radio back in the 60's... The Crazy World of Author Brown... oh yeah.... then there was the time my mom heard it.... "That is just evil".....

A nice job on the cover.... I thought aside from the obvious "not quite insane enough" singing..... that the balance was good.... I would have loved more bass in the mix.

Learning to fly is an AWESOME cover...... great job and the vox fit that perfectly..... I don't listen to TP much but I would have had a hard time differentiating that from the original.... it's that good.

add: I just let the songs play while I cruised the forum.... since I like Def Lepard.... that guitar playing at the end was out freaking standing...loved it.... you got skills.

You got lucky is on... another really great cover all the way around.  TP seems to be your thing.

Got the music sorted Robert, nice! I did get a strong Homer Simpson vibe from the vocals, but that just made it more enjoyable for me. The laugh was excellent btw!

D'oh...
That was a delight... no way Ed tops this...

Sorry man, I had a bit of chuckle when listening to this he he, but it sounds pretty good. The vocals, not really quite there. BUT, and this is big in my world, I could hear and tell all the words appart - big kudos!!

Other than that, it sounds pretty good and the instrument performances seem really good.

But the vocals, yeah, I didn't hate them. At least I'm smiling big now.

Well done!

Thanks everyone! I appreciate all the good words and laughed at your making fun of my vox. ;-) I like the original as well but as I'm not a keyboard player and mostly a rocker, just the guitars. It took me a few weeks to get that lead run down that's supposed to be played on the organ.

I bet Ed can do better.

Guitarhacker, thanks for that. My friend Mike thinks he can't sing but I keep telling him he's better than he thinks. I was suprised when I learned he was accepted, as a teenager, to some school in Boston that was sort of like the show Glee but more for church music. He was part of some big deals as far as that crowd goes.

Hey, Robert,

Nice work on this vintage psychedelic classic from the 60's!

Cool stuff, buddy!
