Good for them. I think if I ever get a teaching certificate I'd like to put aside some time to teach music to special needs kids. A lot of heart and drive that unfortunately doesn't get tapped or appreciated for what it is.

One of the most rewarding jobs I ever held was an internship I did working with autistic children back when I was in college. I learned so much and bonded with quite a few.  I hope you are able to have a similar experience one day. We need people like you to help make bands like this possible.
