I use Studio One exclusively for the Mastering/Project View, and so far I haven't seen any enhancements in 3.0 for that feature.
Really, it's so good, I can't see what they could add without "damaging" it.

So I'll stick with 2.6 Producer for now.

...wicked
On first glance the things that pop out (in envy) to me are:
  • fx chains - not that most DAWs don't have them already, but the UI looks pretty sweet, almost like Reaktor. And, they have splitters, which is what I've wanting for the ProChannel for some time.
  • Scalable UI - S1 has always been a little ahead with their UI tweaks (you can rotate the PRV!)
  • Arranger Track - Cubase had it first, but this looks way more elegant than the cheat of using the otherwise not so great Matrix view for this purpose.
  • Scratch Pad (or whatever it's called) - I'm not sure if this isn't quite similar to Mix Recall or not, have to look into it some more
  • Browser - looks like they've implemented their own metadata for finding stuff, cool...but first you gotta tag EVERYTHING right?
  • Multi-instrument sounds - this sounds cool, especially being able to layer split with multiple synths.

OK, now I'm intrigued.... the multi midi layering (multi instrument per track) shown at 1 hour 10 minutes in...with independent effects, arps, repeater, etc as well as independent keyboard ranges is really cool and creative... me likes a lot...

However, it seems like you can only do two instruments from the  live show... they didn't mention more than the two they showed and this wouldn't make sense if you can do oooodles.... like the effects splitting, which they clearly pointed out it was endless...

The concept is totally awesome and well done but if only two I'm disappointed....
The scratchpad and rearranging features are also way cool...

Bakers!  Get on it!  I love Sonar and can't imagine shifting because of all of Platnium's strengths... but this is really cool and creative and lots of folks want this...

The Scratchpad really makes it for me ... how I wish that SONAR had that feature !
Was a good presentation yesterday.

Though Sonar Platinum is my favorite all-around DAW, there are some unique/intriguing features in S1v3.
JRR Shop has the upgrade from v2 Pro to v3 Pro for $126.65 using code twitter15 (15% off).
Ordered yesterday... still waiting for the SN.

Not show on that page with the other prices.  However, if you select crossgrade and read far enough in the normal print, you'll find $299USD

I loaded up 7 instruments for fun and could not find a limit listed in Help.
I don't think there is a limit on how many you can add but your memory will take a big hit if you go crazy with it!

I just checked the new videos on YouTube, and, while the GUI is a big improvement from the previous version, I actually found it too black to concentrate and also couldn't recognize pane separators. Sonar's GUI is very neutral IMO and that's probably why I find it easy to use and concentrate on working. Also, I found none of the new features relevant to my workflow. Still, I'm quite happy for S1 users. They waited too long, so they deserve the excitement.

Hey Tak T.,
FYI, the colors are now user defined in S1 V3.
