Even without the nostalgic references, the mere mention of Nightmares on Wax was nostalgia enough for me. I listened to Les Nuits on YouTube and it took me right back in time to the 90's and sitting on some stranger's sofa in a blissful post-party haze ...what a beautiful tune.

I lived in Leeds, his home city in the 90's and got to see him play a few times. Probably returned to a friends house 'til the early hours and listened to Les Nuits after. A nice time, when life seemed to be based around doing everything surrounded with friends.

In 1970 I was earning the grand sum of £9 10s and 6p a week as a first year mechanical technician apprentice with STC.  £5 went to Mum for my keep which left me with not a lot.
