Definitely a Men at Work vibe.

Nice not overly mad about the pan of the drums, bit wide on the Hat for me but it is all down to one own personal taste.

Thanks for sharing

Hey, Jason,

Very cool, well written song with nice playing and great vocals!

I agree with Wookie about the drums being panned a bit too wide, so the cymbals seem "outside the band", to the left and right, but that's an easy fix, or possibly what you intended.

Either way, great song, very nice work!

well the Drums were panned that way from EZ drummer, but I think I have bleeding turned off. Great point though because Ill pay more attention to that from now on.

Two thing to remember about pre-sets of anything is

1. They are designed to show the thing, patch, combi, amp etc. etc. in its best light

2. This usual means they need to be tinkered with to fit the mix.

I assume (which is always dangerous) that you can reverse the PAN of the drum kit. This current song appears you have the PAN configured for one of the two following options.  (Neither of which is right or wrong )

1. From the perspective of a right handed drummer i.e. Hats to his left Snare toms running left to right etc.

2. From the perspective of the audience viewing a left handed drummer. i.e. Hats to their left Snare toms running left to right etc.

On the subject of drum panning I always like to contract the sound stage around the kit as would be more natural sounding but let the ambient mikes have a wider PAN.  Unless I want that massive sound field of drums and percussion.

The other thing to decided is whether your drummer is left or right handed.

Drums Metal Machine Ezdrummer( I love using metal kit for everything else but metal)

+1

For most metal these days I use Drumagog with the Invictus library.

Back on topic.
I kinda like this song. Just drop the pop reference IMO. It's just a nice song. Almost catchy on first listen.

lol when I think about this it hurts my brain, because yes I always approch the kit as a right handed drummer because when Im actually behind a real kit, thats how I play it. To someone listening in the audiance the HHats are on their right side with the toms running from right to left.
How ****ed up is this? So when recording should I be a left handed drummer for the audiences sake or keep doing what Im doing and giving you a right handed drummers perspective?
I never gave this a moments thought ever... until now!

Love it! Great job, although I agree with a previous comment that the vocals should be a bit more up front (and maybe drier) to fit in with current pop song production (but what do I know?).

Cheers,
Terry.

Really cool tune, love the vox and overall production. Love the fast licks in the solo, but to be honest some of the bends sound a bit off to me.

Agreed about the bends, and my excuse is; "its that damned floating temelo system..." lol ive played so long on Custom Gibsons I never worried about it. Now im playing more with my Schecter Synistar with the floating temelo and once in a while I bend my 10s hard enuff make them sound a bit off. I have to be honest about my playing now, if I had gone back to redo that solo it would have been different. What if I didnt like that, then do it again, hated it do it again, no wait that note wasnt as climatic... and so on and so on. I liked almost every part of the solo, so i kept it as is.  I have learned to let go these days, I guess I can just call that the "indy" guitar part of the solo
