All jokes aside I once worked as a...... decided that was a dumb thing to reveal on a forum as I was typing

ha-I have only 500 posts in 9 years because I was concerned about incriminating myself and offending others but these days I don`t think anyone really cares if you choose pot over booze or other drugs as long as you are functioning and effective.
the political climate is changing rapidly here and with decriminalisation now only a stroke of the pen away it`s amazing just how many ordinary people as well as " celebrities" are fessing up to the after dinner doobie.
cheers

Lol. Glad I'm  not the only one. I sold drugs as a teen. I was on my own at an early age and did what I needed to at the time to survive. Not the slightest bit ashamed. The other job  i decided not to mentioned is ironically prone to more scrutiny and judgement. I learned the hard way how cruel even close friends can be regarding that chapter of my life.

My list of careers is long, this is a shortened version, Interspersed with spells of unemployment.
CPR Railway Carman, Millwright, Zamboni driver, Maintenance man, Janitor at various institutional type places, Carpenter/Handyman (long time), Music Store, Studio and business owner, School Bus driver, Transit Bus driver, Housekeeping, Support worker Acute & long term  care, Now I'm an Activities Person at the old folks home. If you need to know anything about being old, I'm you guy. My best advice is to make sure you don't ever fall at home on your own, They will lock you away and feed you Oatmeal every morning.

I'm so tempted to say something beyond odd like "I used to make sex toys from aborted fetuses" but that is even low for CH standards

Started in 1980 as a volunteer EMT and Firefighter down in Myrtle Beach, SC. Got hired on in Washington DC as an EMT, went to Paramedic School and worked with DC Fire for about 21 years. Left DC Fire and went to the Health Department 7 years ago, most emergency management type stuff and ambulance regulations. This year I turn 55 so I become eligible for retirement, but will probably stay on for a few more years to up the percentage.

It may surprise you to know that Village Idiot doesn't pay as well as you might think. I always defined myself as a drummer, but I rarely made any money at it. I'm a writer, and I might earn enough in the course of a year to buy a sandwich. I'm fond of eating and living indoors, so I have a day job that pays the bills. For the last 20+ years, I've been an IT consultant. For the last several years as a consultant, I've been a Project Manager. That means that I spend my time hounding other people to get things done.

In that sense, I have a lot in common with herding dogs.

(sigh) On the advice of counsel, I apologize to all herding dogs for any emotional distress my previous statement may have caused.
