Yeah - just saw that too. Quite the bummer.
What an amazing life he had, a very special and universally loved and respected actor.
Some time after Star Trek had ended its television run, I was lucky enough to see Leonard Nimoy in a tiny little theater in the round play called 'A Visitor From a Small Planet', which was actually pretty good, and in it, he did a great job. He was kind enough to stick around afterwards, and was SUPER polite in meeting with fans after the play and shaking everybody's hands and signing autographs and all of that. And, just about every other person who met him did the whole Live Long and Prosper thing with the double-finger V thing. It was pretty cool, and he was quite tolerant of that and also quite nice.
I think we will begin to see large numbers of celebrity deaths in the coming years, for all of the folks we grew up with watching, as they and we are all getting up there in years. It's that whole Circle of Elton thing, I suppose.
