Oddly, i didn't even think of it in making fun of terms. I just grabbed a very random image in my mind. Harder to picture mohamed.  I suppose the fact that it crossed your mind means someone might get offended so that basically answers my question. I'm also not sure if your premise is correct. I have had far more serious repercussions in life from christians than any of the named groups. To be fair, i know more of them than the rest combined, but certainly don't want to turn this into a religious discussion. Feel free to replace jesus with any revered by many figure as an example.

If I changed my user name to say "JesusOnaStick" would that be a CoC violation? I wouldn't actually be discusding religion or I could stress It should be read as "hey zeus". Not planning on doing anything like this. Just a random thought.

I asked a similar question a while back, and didn't get a definitive answer.

Specifically, I was querying whether it was permitted to post a tune over in the Songs forum whose lyrics contained otherwise barred subject matter, such as religion or politics.

For example, it seems to be fine to post a song whose lyrical content is deliberately composed to praise or worship one's deity of choice. Yet to post such content elsewhere in the forums as a non-song related opinion seems to be pretty comprehensively prohibited.

And taking the song lyrics idea a stage further, if it's permissible to post a song with overt religious overtones and content, would it be equally permissible to post a song that ridiculed religion? Or a tune that celebrated or promoted devil-worship, occultism... even atheism.

Who decides what is permissible and what isn't?

Who decides what's offensive and what isn't?

The songs forum is part of what inspired my question. It would be silly to ban political or religious songs, considering how many great songs are about those topics. At the same time i can't imagine a song called "Eff Allah in the A" or "What a friend we have in Belzebub" being allowed to stay.  I have no problem with it, but i sometimes wonder how someone who wanted to sing atheist hyms would feel. The idea of an atheist hymn tickles me. Would they change "Amazing Grace" to "Imaginary Grace"?

This is one of the things we specifically discussed with the Bakers when the forum was re-arranged.

The official line is,  the songs forum is for showcasing your work not your opinions.  If you want to post songs that have religious or political content that is fine, but you limit any discussion to the song and not its subject.
If the content includes anything that others may specifically find offensive, swearing, adult content, etc, then you are expected to give some sort of warning before the link.

It is not illegal to be an idiot, but it sure does portend poor taste and choices...
