Rain
I was doing my usual round before I went to bed last night, enabling the alarm system and making sure all doors and windows were locked and secured. Took a look in the backyard and noticed that the deck seemed strangely illuminated, almost as if... Nah, this couldn't be.

Well, seems it was indeed - as confirmed when I saw the mountains around the valley, all covered in snow.

First time I see snow since we've moved here in 2012.

As long as it's all up in the mountains, I don't mind. Winter is actually nice, from a distance. :P

Our office was closed today in Dallas because of snow and ice.

I'd rather be in Vegas with the snow than the extreme heat!  (And I've been there for both.)  By far, the hottest weather I was ever in was an August in Vegas when I was there for a big world-ranked dart tournament.  129 degrees F!!!  If you opened an outside door, it felt like opening an oven door - no thank you!!!

Our office was closed today in Dallas because of snow and ice.

I like real snow, to a point. It was accumulated sleet over here.
Thankfully, most people stayed home, so there was very little traffic.
This morning, the brine trucks had hit the bridges, so they weren't as bad as usual.
However, coming home in the last hour, much of the rain and sleet that fell today has frozen, and there are patches of black ice on non-elevated roadways.
This is my Friday, and I'm not going anywhere for the next two days.
For my neighbors that have to get out tomorrow, it will be much slicker than it was this morning.
You guys be careful.

I never watch the news so I had no idea other states were affected. You guys stay safe!

Snow is great for the first 12 hours or so. It's a white frosty wonderland of innocent glee. But there's something really depressing and vile when that snow turns to grime. It makes you realize just how dirty the world really is.

It's a balmy 82 degrees F here in FL.

However (for FL standards), it was quite cold a few days ago (low 30's F) which lasted for about 2 weeks.

In Vegas, it almost always snows on Mt. Charleston (the opposite end of town for you Rain) during winter. I used to take the little ones for snow ball fights......but, I wouldn't want to live in a place that required shoveling it.
