Or how about this - package pepper into small packets of 10-12 grains. It's so much more fun having to open seven of the buggers to pepper your egg salad sandwich than just opening one. 
 
Seriously though, people are truly dumb, which is why there is a market for pre-peeled bananas on plastic trays.
