Very nice.  Just perused (skimmed) the article by Bitflipper.  Nice Job.  Very professional and informative.

[Edit:  just finished reading the Renaxxance article in detail, twice.  Great work.  My only minor "correction" is the comment that there may not be a real world 12 string nylon.  I googled it, and found that there are in fact 12 string nylon guitars.  Sorry to be picky, but to be honest that was the only suggestion.  Other than that I found the article really (really) educational, informative, descriptive, and reserved (in the best sense of that word).  Thanks for your hard work Bit!!!!]

Oh, sure, go ahead and cheat by using Google! You don't expect me to do actual research, do you?

My "research" consisted of having a blast playing that thing for hours.

BTW, in case you missed it in the Deals forum, be sure to check out Mr. Baer's Rhino review with discount code. That's a lotta synth for 30 bucks!

I've long had an aversion to FM synths because of a mental association with the dreadful and impossible to program Yamaha DX7, but thanks to David's explanations I now know that Rhino is much more than a DX7 clone. Soundfonts!

Anybody else get crashes in sonar platinum with Rhino 2 64 bit? This was actually worse with X3 ( not usable here). I tried it again in SPlat, and it appears stable but glitches slightly when changing presets, then seems to crash after several minutes. Might be related to certain presets - I've got all the available 3rd party presets so I will try to narrow it down. Currently running Dorchester. Just curious if this is unique to my system.
I love Rhino and would like to use it more.

I remember getting Rhino (back in the day from Audio Midi's no brainer) and sadly, never really used it much.....yes, it was a very nice synth with a lot of capabilities, but possibly Alchemy may have had some influence on me. I ended up selling my copy last year and never tried to install it on my 64 bit machine.

However, Big Tick is a very active developer and I'm sure if you contact him, he'll offer some solutions fairly quickly.

Hey Mesh - I sent him an email several weeks ago after his last update failed to resolve the problem and I never heard from him. I picked it up on (likely) the same no brainer as you did. Excellent synth but was never too troubled by it not working well in SONAR due to the low cost. I picked up Reaper a while back just to test it and it seemed to work fine in Reaper. It seems to be better in SPlat than X3 but still crashes (the only synth that consistently (but not instantaneously) crashes SPlat here) which is a pain in the ass and will inevitably mean it will be back on the shelf. Too bad, but c'est la vie, eh?
