Hey folks,
I'm trying my hand at (pop) country and just finished this one up. It's a bit of a departure from my usual AAA stuff, but I think I like it.

Vox may be a bit hot, but I'm not sure. Opinions?

I think the vocal sits about right for this style of music.  I liked the slide guitar through the reverb which gives the song depth and a welcome changeup.  The lyrics are poignant, and overall, this has enough sincerity to make it believable.  Good job.

I liked the song & arrangement... vocal mix seems about right, but I dont care for that much reverb on the slide solo...
 Great work on this Dean...

Hey Dean
EXCELLENT piece of music from the performance to the production.  Reminds me a lot of Lee Brice.  Mix sounds great on my end.  A very radio friendly tune and is spot on what most of country/pop is sounding like these days.  KUDOS!

Excellent work, Nice and bright and clear. You are a good songwritter , great lyrics I was instantly drawn into the story, That's not easy to do! I'm a picky bastard. and the arrangement flowed, bridge right where I like them, and the outro build up,,
I liked the slide solo, it was a nice surprise as not many can do that tastefully.

This is good writing.

Couldn't find it on a map and couldn't get there if you did.... love that line.

I like it all mostly but the solo with the heavy verb (mentioned by Frank) makes it sound too distant. A dryer and maybe acoustic slide sol there would be more intimate sounding.  JMHO.

Great job all around on this.

You did one of my favourite ever cover versions on this forum ('Hey Ho, Away We Go), I loved that.

This is a nice sounding production, bang on for the current genre. Intro had a Marc Cohn vibe, which is a good thing in my book. Vocals seemed to disappear a little in verse 2, other than that it's pretty pro-sounding to my ears.

Lynn - Thanks, glad you liked the writing.

Frank and Guitarhacker - Yeah, the reverb on the git solo is certainly obvious. It was an artistic choice rather than a production choice...that is, my partner who played all the guitars chose that sound for that section rather than adding reverb to it during production. I actually don't mind it, but it certainly is an artistic preference.

Kev and timidi and Cactus Music - Thanks, glad you liked it. I'm just getting into this genre so it's pretty new still...in fact, this is my first real shot at C&W...nice to know I'm not falling on my face :)

James - Glad you liked this and that little 80's cover I did. That cover still makes me chuckle...it turned out pretty well for a song I threw together in a couple hours.

Thanks for listening folks. I appreciate it.

Hey I just listened a second time , I liked it that much, And yes what james said is true, I could not understand some of the lyrics in verse 2.
