In all seriousness (OP kidding aside), if someone gives up their username what is the problem? It's as if it never existed and in fact it does not (on all previous posts). 
 
Now, does the OP (my alternate login) really want to be CakeAlexS? No. But still, what is to now stop any new user named Alex Smith from becoming CakeAlexS (unknown to him that it "once" existed)? The only problem is that some of us used to know CakeAlexS (now Splat). Noamsane?

I don't have a problem with it really.  it will make things confusing if someone TRIES to allude being "moderated"
 
but like I said, I could do some real damage posing as "bapu" - locking threads, banning people...and everyone would THINK it was YOU doing it unless they checked my previous post history!!!
