Wow, Beepster lives in an actual building!  Cool.

The carboard box was getting a little cramped with all the gear. It was more soundproof though and I had better neighbors.

Who wouldn't want to live in a soundproof home. My heart is in the big city - I'm not a big fan of suburbia or the sticks except for short visits - but living in an apartment building can be rough if you're a musician. Some people have really wild, fancy dreams and ambitions involving fame and opulence, I guess mine is just to be who I am and do the things I do but in a real nice fancy soundproof apartment in the city on a high floor with great views. Ain't too much to aim for right? I have my eye on The Walker Tower in Chelsea - an old art deco building recently renovated into apartments. It's apparently such a solid build that you could drive a bulldozer around your living room and the people downstairs wouldn't hear a thing.  The floors can hold 100lbs per square foot and the walls are 18 inches thick. What a musician's dream.....

However with prices up to $34m I think I have a ways to go yet.

Forget crowded cities!  Give me something on the edge of the sticks and on the edge of suburbia.

And it's virtually brick and mortar.

Did you get the tag number? LOL!

Back in the early 80s I worked for an exterminating company in Atlanta. I was doing some 'termite work' at a house off Peachtree Street (the main drag in downtown ATL). I went to lunch to the nearest fast food, Arbys IIRC. When I pulled in and got out of the truck I had 150 ft of hose hanging out the back of the truck, 300 ft total but looped back. I had put the treating tip in the truck and forgot to roll the hose up on the spool... I was lucky no one ran over it! I quickly rolled it up. It was full of Chlordane, wonderful!

Then one day in the 90s after I had my own exterminating business I was driving north on I-75 near Barrett Pkwy, Kennesaw... and noticed the people behind me had their wipers on... I quickly realized what was happening, turned my lights off, and hit the gas until I was out of there so no one could get my name off the side of my truck.
I had a 20 gallon tank with an electric pump, it had 'pest control' chemical in it, nothing too bad, an acute spray that I got on my skin regularly, you just wash it off but some people and the EPA well...
I had the electric pump wired to my truck battery through the parking lights. I also had an inline switch which I had, obviously left on. I had turned my lights on for some reason, it was not raining and my pump was spraying away, right up into the air and onto the cars behind me... yep! I decided it was time to RUN!!  LOL.

Moving from a very rural part of GA to metro Atlanta it did not take me long to learn to just back off if I encountered an aggressive driver. There are people out there who will kill you. Some will just yell something about the 'sunny beaches', others will shoot at you. I remember a story from about 1982 where these two guys got into it after one cut off the other, then the other one got in front and slowed down, then the other one got in front, stopped, got out, and shot the other guy's engine with a .357... and killed it. Yeah... I try to keep my head down. People get meaner and more self absorbed every day, IMO.

I hope your building is OK... the upside, maybe your alley is just a bit wider now!
