Dang it lawajava,

I have Trilian and Omnisphere but never really looked at Stylus RMX. I spent about 30 minutes watching videos last night because of your post, and now I have to have it.
grrrr...
:)
PS: It was this video that did it... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCDkKSRkb9s

You will love it.  I have Geist, which is also very cool.  But Eric and Spectrasonics make stuff that is so powerful and gets fast return for the effort of using it.  Stylus RMX just gets better every time you work with it.

Here's an extra kicker, they have miles and miles of tutorials on it so there are plenty of ways to learn how to go from simple to smart using it.  And, PlugIn Guru has some great free tutorial material and very low cost but rich add-ons.

So, lawajava, I assume you'll be getting the upgrade?

Omnisphere 2 for $199?  That's a no brainer.

Not to pile it on, but it looks like this deal is potentially still available.  $199 for all of the Nine Volt Audio collection (which is huge).  That entire collection is completely set up for Stylus RMX.  You just open up Stylus RMX and everything from that collection can be utilized in seriously amazing ways.  That includes key sounds, guitar sounds, it goes on and on.

I also want to mention that John at PlugInGuru is truly a hero.  The YouTube video you found, for example, exemplifies what a treasure of info he provides, and how he contributes to the libraries available.

nah, not going to happen. I'll be ordering! :)

I bought Omnichill from John and it's great - will need to check out his other stuff. The nine volt stuff seems very interesting, but I struggle even with the $199 price tag... :/

smallstonefan - if you probe a bit and listen to the Nine Volt Audio sizzles (there are some puns in there), you'll probably get charged about what's in there.  For like $199 it's like a galaxy of cool stuff.  Then that plugs in to Stylus RMX where you can control it and pick and choose what you want from already cool things, and it's a treasure trove.

arg. Ordered and downloading now.

I am so weak! How it can be used in Stylus is what sold me... I've seen this collection but didn't know about Stylus RMX at the time. Thanks for educating me on this - I see hours and hours of fun here. :)

I have not used Stylus RMX nearly enough, still learning actually.

but with Omni, Trillian and stylus - you can throw down a serious song track.

I have Reason 7 and with Stylus RMX I have been able to save a REX file and inport it into Stylus to use my own sounds.  it's not a simple thing to do but it does work once you have it down.

reason I mention it is that it can expand Sylus RMX using your own sounds, samples or converted samples.

make sure if you are buying a used copy of Stylus RMX that you are getting the Expanded edition that is newer.  TONS more sounds and grooves.

I love my Spectrasonics stuff.   eager for beginning of May to start playing.

For a refresher, and a way to pick up your momentum, take a look at the tutorial link mentioned above.  Great way to pick up the pace:

This may belong in the coffee house, but there was a lot Eric Persing says here about innovation that's unabashedly honest.  Almost scary. http://www.musicradar.com/news/tech/spectrasonics-eric-persing-talks-omnisphere-2-sound-design-and-more-616236
