Does it involve cheeseburgers?

Sure... if 'cheeseburgers' is some sort of euphemism for 'plate tectonics'... sure. ;)

Wow, a third of this crowd is pretty negative!  In fact, there's actually another third that is pretty negative!  Good thing two-thirds are positive around here.

I was into reading about quantum physics when I was 19 or so. Not the nitty gritty equation stuff, but books written for the layman (which were, nonetheless, very meaty reading). It put me into a very weird head space in which I started thinking very deeply about what existence was like on a quantum level. I found myself wondering the streets at 3am in the morning thinking about it, looking at trees and marveling at the particles they were made of etc. I would not be surprised if theoretical physicists go on those long night walks too.

I don't do the equation stuff either... although I won't hesitate to grab a book on the subject that is full of them. There's still some great reading in those books. I wanted to be an astronomer or theoretical physicist when I was finishing high-school but math bored me to tears... among other things. Still love the subject matter thankfully.

And as for gazing at trees and at the world around you, while trying to understand it all? It did help me to understand part of a Nietzsche quote... "And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." You can't attempt to understand it all, to take it all in, openly, honestly, truthfully, without bias... without your own being as part of the equation. Nietzsche basically says... like yourself or not, you will know the truth of yourself. Be prepared for anything.

Too many admins in the system isn't a good thing. I've seen it happen first hand with a company who took any and all volunteers for who wanted to be admin.

It basically all ends in fighting and frustration on who gets to run the forum and what gets flag and what doesn't. It also leads to admin in-fighting. It's just pure chaos.

Is gravity getting you down?  Inertia holding you back?

The Law of Entropy
  • If you put a spoonful of sewage into a barrel full of wine, you get sewage
  • If you put a spoonful of wine into a barrel full of sewage, you get sewage
  • Too much sewage and you get the FSF.
