This is great, I love the horns and that bit of organ in there fits nicely. Well done.

I don't know what's rough about the mix.... the tune sounds pretty together to me.  True there's a lot of moving parts, but it sounds like you've got them well in hand.  Good vocal, and a terrific job on the horn section.  Funk on, bro!

Love it. I wish the bass was a bit funkier. Feels a bit too smooth in it's attack. It's not bad. Just not as funky as the rest of the tune IMHO. But call it a taste think.

Bapu I know what you mean.  I played the bass early in the project and comped a track together to build on. I have though about trying to improve it but not sure how to get my Yamana MotionBass to give more punch.

What would you suggest as a starting point...keep in mind I am a challanged bassist LOL

I Worked on some slap style bass. It took a few days and some blisters but here is the result.
 
I also made a few adjustments tothe mix as well.
