i dont think her/his words in text nor her/his thinking is from swedon.is it ussualy obvious the way people context there words you can get an idea where they are from?..i mean i say wicked all the time..thats a boston thing..by reading these posts it sounds like someone from the united states,born and raised.not a discrimination thing,just a fact..just like i wouldnt say "ah mate"..i like that saying..but i would say it because its not in my vocabulary.this reeks of something from other than what this "person" is claiming...i love this forum,and what i love the most is someone speaking there true feelings in here..its not only helpfull but educating.there is of course that fine line.and i think cakewalk does a masterfull job at keeping that line check.

no, I'm pretty sure Dr. Hash-head is not the same person as Thomas Gato.  they had very different personalities.  it's pretty difficult to post consistently different personalities unless you have multiple personality disorder.  which is another subject entirely.  As far as Carissa is concerned, I'm not sure of his/her gender, nor am I positive that he/she is not native Swedish, but his/her personality is not similar to Mr. Gato OR Dr. Hashish, nor is it really similar to anyone else who comes into the forum with guns blazing drawing attention to themselves like he/she has done.

let's not forget honorable mention to our beloved Beagle!  I had 2 "disagreements" with him before the most famous thread where bapsi was beat upon by the polynesian kitty.

I don't know guys....if you read her first post (I've read it 4 times just to make sure I "got it") I think it's quite credible, wouldn't you say? She mentions:

"Of course, I'm not talking about many, many of the kind, productive contributors here, and I'm sure they aren't offended.  I'm talking to the armchair brave who snip and quip at others whom they would well not treat in such a manner if personally present."

That means none of you guys in the coffee house fit that bill. This is a much different world down here than it is up stairs. You can pretty much get away with saying just about anything to you guys here and you all take it and make jokes out of it. It's very relaxed, playful and in my years here, those of you in the CH here have helped thousands up stairs...so if you totally remove yourselves from her post, don't you think it has some merit no matter who she is or where she's from?

It doesn't matter to me whether she's a she, a male, living in Sweden or in the USA. I think the post was credible. Was it called for? In her mind it was, but that's not for me to decide. I must say though, I've seen everything she's mentioned. I also have to admit, the way she worded it made me sick because, well, it made me realize how much of the english language there is that I don't use as well as how grammatically incorrect I am. LOL! That's just my jealousy talking though. :) (That's not meant to be a dig, Carissa...I'm envious and admit to talking and typing like a cave man)

I think what it all comes down to is, if you are a new user just coming here, reading some of the comments we see from time to time can really put a person off or even intimidate them from posting or asking a question. A post that well-worded like hers also makes it a bit more acceptable to me. Am I missing something somewhere? I'm not taking sides or trying to be confronational, I just kinda felt she spoke the truth to those that fit that mold.

FWIW I do agree that there has been much bashing, name calling, threats and gnashing of teeth.  I do not disagree with that.  I also think that it's been worse in the last few months than it ever has been before, even tho there is always a good amount of negativity and complaining after a new release.

I happen to agree with JB, however, that she's come in with guns blazing drawing attention to herself over a crticizing post which was nothing more than more negativity and lacking in any type of resolution.  Her post did nothing to resolve the negativity, but stirred it up more.

If she wanted to really contribute to resolving the atmosphere of this forum then she would become an active participant and passively help deter those who are negative instead of just making bold broad accusations without any plan for a resolution.

 Lucidity and articulation non withstanding, what he/she posted was a parrot of the same observations posted up there many times, some rather crudely and some as eloquent as its.

Same warmed over bowl of soup without the resolution
