Chefs remind me of mastering engineers... don't ask me why. ;-)

Why can't I ask you why?

Because... I'd like to avoid bragging about how good my grandmas were at mastering.

Mike:
tom1,
You recently posted that "I apologize for the people of my country. What a group of idiots". The fact that you wrote the post in Portuguese doesn't absolve you of the fact that you called us idiots.

Good point Mike; but I also included myself (at least I thought I did) in the 'insult';

I didn't say Mike McCue is an idiot; I said we are idiots in this country (myself included)

(but you are correct, it was a 'snide' comment. and I apologize for it.)
Now that you have proven that I am a hypocrite can we get back to my main point.

You are (so typical of this forum) attacking the messenger and not the message;

I wish we were in the same room; You would know that I am not mad;
I'm not trying to lecture anyone; I'm not saying I am more civil than you; there is no anger in my being.
Why do you have to make a confrontation out of this?

I can be as hypocritical, obnoxious, arrogant, and uncivil at any given time as any human being on this planet.

Ok, now can we get back to the main point which is:

a group of people (not one member) but a group of people (some forum regulars) that I felt jumped on this one OP. I felt a little more courtesy could have been shown. Words hurt; What we
say to people have a big effect on them.

We all should (myself included) be a little more thoughtful in our comments.

Peace.

Show me where this has been done on this thread, other than by yourself, and the OP who decided in her message to critique unspecified swathes of contibutors. Perhaps Charlie too but I'm not entirely convinced he even knows what he is saying.

But do it quickly because I'm kind of bored of it now.

If there is an issue you have with something in particular spell it out. If you, like the OP, want to modify the behaviour of others here to suit your tastes then I suggest you both volunteer to become moderators.

I'll take you up on that.  Although you can skip the beer I don't drink.

Make it a becan breakfast and you're on.

(I'll need all the options I can get after I've fleeced Ed enjoyed the hospitality at Chez Bapu)
