I think Carissa is Bapu.

If it isn't how does he know she/he(?) smokes, have you asked yourself that eh?

I'm just wondering, did any of you guys hurt yourselves climbing over each other to light Carissa's cigarette?

  My point exactly. Everything I tried to get across is coming out here.  Im not even sure if Clarissa is male, female or just someone with a fake profile creating another post to chime in on.  Love the mixture of everything and being able to get a good smile out of it.  [:)}
But if she/he does come back. I sincerely hope they continue with the insightful posts like this one

I am a longtime Cakewalk user and this is my first post.

One thing that has been constant in this forum has been helpfulness. I feel it still continues.

There always seemed to be a respected limit as to how much humor and sniping could go. Trolls were dealt with quickly.

That has changed since X1 came out. The climate became more toxic and it escalated past the old levels.

Many of the more helpful people seemed to lose their patience sooner or have stopped dropping by.

The real culprit in all of this is the fact that X1 worked for some and not for others. The other main issue is that people don't like change and X1 has some big changes. People whine alot when taken out of their comfort zone.

I see too many posts where someone states; "Well I don't seem to be having that problem, maybe it's something you're doing wrong."
Another is;" Well if you don't like X1 you can always go back to 8.5."

I work in IT and if I took that attitude with my customers I'd be in hot water all the time.
And before the flames begin I am not insinuating that Cakewalk is treating people this way. IMO that is the vibe in the forum. There are a lot of different issues and everyone is trying to put out a lot of separate fires. There is a lot of frustration.

The length of the bug fix list in Xb1 alone speaks volumes to the problems that have plagued X1.

I personally love the improvements in X1. My mixes have improved greatly with the new tools. Sadly I have had many of the issues that have been discussed in this forum. Workflow has slowed to a crawl having to deal with workarounds and crashes.
The latest fix has helped but it was in no way a smooth fix. A lot of songs have to be redone to some extent. Lot's of backtracking.

Will the climate get better? I sure hope so. Cakewalk forums were the friendliest and the best. If the product 's quality can be improved to where everyone feels they got their money's worth then I am sure of it. If not it will only get worse.

Remember, life is what you make it.

WHAT?!? I'm responsible for all this? All this time I've been blaming politicians, religious extremists, and my parents. Turns out it was me all along. Ugh, I need some medication.

VERY nicely said. You hit the nail square on the head. Take me for example, I've been reading this forum for over 1 1/2 yrs and signed in just today to respond to this post. And yes, this forum as in all others I have tried to participate in is a reflection of our F***ed up society we live in today. I stopped posting on the BHO years ago because of all the internet tough guys and the lack of common respect and and civility and I doubt I'll post here very much either. ALL that said, like society as well, there are still a lot of good people out there, unfortunately, they are usually the quiet ones which has made our society even worse. I DO appreciate the forum and some of the good people that post on here trying to help folks. It does'nt go un-noticed and un-appreciated, I promise. I for one have learned a lot just reading the posts and appreciate the forum from a distance.....Steve
