I have a very broad temp comfort zone.

71.9F to 72.1F.

Come on Bapu, man up.  I can at least tolerate 67F to 75F. Stopped chipping ice off the car 40 years ago, can't even imagine going back. When I "need" a good chill, I just turn the AC down.

Southern California residents are all weather wimps. That's why they live there.

I have an electric furnace for a large-ish (3,600 sq. ft.) house. The house was built in 1965, when hydroelectric power was ridiculously cheap (before we started selling it to California). Today, it would cost me dearly to keep the place warm, so I don't. Sweaters and electric blankets are far cheaper.

This is made possible by the Pacific Ocean. Looking at a map, one might logically assume that Seattle is a very cold place. Seattle is further north than 72% of Canada's population. Nearly all of Canada's major cities are further south than Washington State's northern border, including the nearest big city, Vancouver. Even frigid Montreal is south of us. So is Minneapolis and Moscow.

But the forecast for today is close to 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Thanks to the Pacific Ocean. And probably a little help from global warming.

With global warming kicking in I expect my headache frequency to increase when the average daily temp in So. Cal. is above 80F. That should be in about 200 years.

Going to -25 here today. Totally screwing me up despite havign the heat cranked. Yesterday it was colder... and I actually had go out in it. When the wind hit me it was like being attacked with tiny razor blades. I could deal with it when I was a kid... nowadays not so much.

heat wave.

Salt Lake City ...  has had the third-lowest snowfall on record from Dec. 1 through Feb. 3, with only 6 inches to show for the winter thus far, according to the weather service.
High pressure in the middle levels of the atmosphere is keeping storms far north of Utah, and temperatures well above normal.
In fact, Saturday's high broke the record for Salt Lake City's warmest day in February since 1886.

its getting grim here, i imagine mandatory water restrictions this summer.

our ONLY drinking water, comes from snow melt.

record heat here.
and drought.

global warming, yes obviously.

the weather patterns, swinging as wildly as they are, is a partial indication.

Humans can give off enormous amount of heated gas, and like a roaring furnace occasionally.... {skip that) ahhh what a relief it is, especially after a bowl of chili

Seriously, here in Wis I keep the heat down to a steady low of 67 (my wife and I hate the heat) and wear warm winter clothing.
