This will be my second and most likely last time to see them. I saw them in 2007 on the Snakes and Arrows tour. I'm a fan of all of their music...I even like most of the 80's stuff. They will be missed if this is it. I do admire the fact that they want to quit while they can still bring it, but Rush at 80% would still be very good. Hopefully they go home and fire up Sonar Platinum and knock out a few records!

I wish Toontrack or xln Audio would make a Neil Peart kit. I have the Session Drummer 3 version, but I don't care much for SSD3.

If you would rather use Kontakt, you could import the sfz files into Kontakt.

Moving Pictures was one of my favorites from them, released in '81, I think.

Come to think of it, 1981 was just a great year for music.

Ozzy - Diary Of A Madman
Rush - Moving Pictures
Van Halen - Fair Warning
Judas Priest - Point Of Entry
Black Sabbath - Mob Rules
Genesis - Abacab
Earth, Wind,& Fire - Raise

I'm sure I'm missing many more...

Sorry for the hijack.

According to Dave Kerzner the SD3, BFD, ST3 and Kontakt versions are all slightly different. In particular, the Cakewalk version is greatly simplified. The Kontakt version has the most features, meaning multiple microphone positions that can be mixed to taste, something the SD3 version can't do. I suspect the ST3 version may be similarly dumbed-down.

Too bad, too, because the SD3 version is quite a bit cheaper than the Kontakt version.

I'm sure the majority of that is velocity layers and kit pieces (and maybe even bit depth)
I know the SD kit has less pieces and obviously less velocity layers...but still all probably
from the same set of samples...

The one I have for Kontakt is Tre Manifique!

The question is "What will be the next fruit to get a kit?

The way IK's been going (lately....), it certainly is looks like a fruit of the loom stain from one too many Electric Prunes.
