Something hard. . . but you make it look so easy.  KUDOS, Kenny!

Kev

Hi Kev,

the only hard thing involved here was just getting off my lazy old butt and playing a song

I'm happy you enjoyed the music

my apologies for being MIA from the forum and leaving a few friends hanging in this thread

I've been swamped  over here

HI Blip ,
it's nice to see you again , it has been a while
thank you for giving this tune a listen and having some kind words to say about my guitar playing

Hi Tap,

Diving Duck is a pretty hip Blues standard , it has been played by many diverse and talented musical artists
some day I hope to be considered one of them
thank you for the listen

"a far as my secret recipe ?
it's all conceptual & it takes place in another part of the (my) mind   I have found through my own personal experience that the conscious mind itself is not the place I want to be coming from when I'm playing the guitar & music .  The conscious mind is only a gate way to a primarily  choice oriented way of thinking .   I appease it by practicing very mundane things with the intention of having the technique to be able to play or draw from the thousands of hours of accumulated playing & practice that's "hopefully on tap...."  When I play ,   I'm looking to escape the bondage of myself & allow something that is far greater than myself to seek expression ..  Now it is entirely possible that the thing that is seeking expression might be an aspect of my self that has higher ideals than my conscious self   too me the important thing is to be open to just letting it happen .... w out me getting in the way "

I heard all that in your playing... you are singing freely like a song bird on that guitar. That's why I thought you could use a tye dye back drop for your video.

:-)

Come on now... break my heart; That tone coming off the Les Paul sounds like you are making out with the best Marshall head I've ever heard... but I know it's just your fingers doing it all... still I gotta know, are doing that with a... *gasp* Amp Sim? Tell me the truth... I can take it.  :-)

Oh and also, I just wanna point out that being gifted a VOS Gibson says a lot about how people feel about a person. You must have some real good friends! Well done!

Happy new year!

best regards,
mike

Hi Mike ,

I do have a tye dye tee shirt from back in the day that I can't fit into any more

I hate to beak your heart ,  my signal is gonna stay a secret , btw let me assure you that this is nothing personal my friend ...

I've been pressed before online and when it happens I simply invoke the #1 magicians rule

A Magician never tells how he performs his trick

in my case it is not a trick , I just want to keep the magic where it belongs ..in the music and my guitar playing

Yes ,
I do feel greatfull to have a  friend that  surprised me when I least expected it

my friend was very happy to see me get away from playing El Cheapo guitars like Squiers and Epi's ...
you know,   the type of guitars that I can afford on my income

the other side of the coin is I gave away 2 of my favorite most played and loved guitars for Christmas gifts to people that weren't expecting it

I was kind of wanting to hear those secrets too but you have been more than generous with your knowlege so fair enough.  Is a pleasure hearing those tones. Looking forward to your next.
