At first glance, I thought they were referring to Jeff Beck....

Granted I am not familiar with Beyonce's stuff but does she actually do all the grunt work[?]

Hehe...  That about sums it up right there.

Oh no... is she a grunter? I'm not going to bother youtubing her tracks.

You see what you dun did, Fishticks? I am purposely NOT going to listen to Beyonce now because of your shenanas.

I do highly respect those behind the scenes R&B dudes that ACTUALLY make the music though. It must be very frustrating having that level of talent (and I do indeed appreciate that style of music and all the work that goes into it) and watching these auto tuned clownwads running around acting like they're friggen' Mozart because of YOUR labors.

Ugh.

I don't know if what she does is "R&B" but granted I'm not really up to date with my pop genres. I can think of other female R&B artists who have 100x the artistry and musical integrity of Beyoncé though. Mary J, Erika Badhu, Lauren Hill etc.

Beck's ist guden.

I prefer Lowenbrau... BUT they sold out to Labatt's here in Canuckistan recently so now it is being brewed in the Labbatt's filth factory of doom instead of shipped over from the factory in Europe. Tastes terrible and they made the containers smaller. They don't even list the ingredients on the cans/bottles anymore (because the new recipe very obviously does not pass the Bavarian purity laws). It has become another domestic "filth" beer.

I don't drink much anymore but this has been very disruptive to my obsessive beer snob sensibilities. I have very few creature comforts left in this world so when I have a nice fizzing goldie I want it to COUNT.

I have however found some decent, low priced alternatives but it just ain't the same, man.

As you can tell I am truly broken up about this series of unfortunately events.

:-p

screw you, fishsticks... you are far less interesting/entertaining than beer.

I happened to see Beyonce's set at Glastonbury 2013 (on TV) and was very impressed - she puts on a great show, and as Jonbouy would say 'she really turns up for work'.

K West is still a tool though.

I much prefer old motown because I like the old analogue tones of the live instruments but I do occasionally check out some of the newer artists just to see how things have evolved. As much as she was a disaster of a human being I kind of liked Amy Winhouse's offerings... yanno, as far as pop hit stuff. There was some heart and pain there back by some good wailin' pipes.

I am more impressed by some of the stuff I stumble across occasionally that isn't quite as pop hit though. I think the REAL evolution of motown/R&B has been massively suppressed in favor of this stale bubblegum crap being rammed down everyone's throats by the major labels.

Very unfortunate.

There is a certain irony to Kanye continuously being able to generate more buzz from being an ass than the artist he interupted. I'm amazed the same trick worked twice. I'm even more amazed that the supplemental attention whoring of people like Stanley worked again too. It seems like every time Kanye acts like...well, Kanye..some old fart makes some claim he would kick his ass, knowing full well the likelihood  of a physical confrontation of Kanye and a senior citizen is unlikely. Kizz is never going to be in competition with Kanye or anyone Kanye associates with. It's nice grandstanding and it riles up baby boomers who hate Kanye, but in the end he is doing a variation of what Kanye is doing; using another artist to promote himself.

I liked  Amy Winehouse too, but let's not kid ourselves into thinking that she was any less contrived than any other pop star. The Britiah woman teaming with various R&B and hip-hop producers to create music reminiscent of an older style is just as formulaic as anything else and feeds the "she's different" marketing slot for a short period until they move on to the next. Check the credits and you will find a lot of the same names behind this stuff. Same for Erykah Badu. I enjoyed her music as well, but I know firsthand she was somewhat of a creation as well. I saw her before she became Erykah Badu and we are talking night and day. Call me cynical, but at this point, I pretty much take all artist images with a grain of salt.

Can not think of what use this tool could be put use for though, it is a tough one.
