I haven't really used it in the last 20 years or so...  But.....  I guess I've now got space, where I used to keep it.
Got a great price and it went to a "good home"....

hhmmmm

Sad to see old gear go, last year I sold a TG77 synth that I had from new since the late 80's.

At least there's the hope that someone will use and enjoy it, rather than sitting in a box unused for the last 20 years.

one of the VERY BEST ELECTRIC GUITAR TONES i've ever heard...

was done with a strat and a V4 stack.

actually,
two different players had enormous gorgeous tone with a V4....
one with a paul, one with a strat.

i always wanted a V4 because of that,
but you have to play them wide open,
and once i quit the road, i gave up on that dream.

well... I used to have two, daisy chained a lot of the times...so the dream was double.  I about had a hernia lifting just a single dang cabinet and head into my Ford Taurus, to deliver.  My wife had to help actually and she laughed at if I remembered moving that thing around 40 years ago.  I actually did and it was the PA cabs that were a bear moving...NOT the guitar amps.  Of course one side of the cabinet didn't have any Tolex!

I don't remember being able to let go of a piece of gear w/o regretting it somewhere down the road - except for the first few very mediocre amps and guitars. That being said, you don't seem short on good gear, and 42 years ain't a bad run. :)

When I turned 16 my grandparents gave me $1000 to buy a car. I asked if it would be okay if I bought a guitar amp instead. I opted to buy a V-4 with 2 cabinets, an EH Memory man and an Electric Mistress. Someone let me borrow a VT-22 for an extended time. I hooked it up to the V-4 as another gain stage and had a wall of sound. Later, I was in a band with another guitar player that had a V-4 stack, we used to hook them up so each side of the stage had a 4-12 cab from each amp so you could hear the other guy coming out of the stack too. It worked great. Anyway I still have the head but the cabinets were stolen in '93. My grandparents are long gone and there's so much sentimental value there that I don't think I'll ever part with it. My first amp was an Ampeg Reverberocket II, I don't think I'll ever part with. My 70's Champ and '67 Super Reverb have a permanent home too. I always wanted a Boogie, alright I think I have issues......
