My daughter just recorded a Santa Baby, including all the harmonies/backing vocals , and posted it on Youtube but it has some bad wobbles/crackles.  This Sonar home studio 6 I think..
..its such a shame - it would be a great track otherwise... and festive with a few word changes for fun factor.

Anyway - we're running sonar on visa, we've tried a number of things, no AV, shutting off wifi, closing down other apps.
What am I missing?

I'm guessing the issue was with recording rather than mastering?

what can we do to find out, and what can we try to solve it.

Many Thanks, and Merry Christmas

Jeremy.

I have no idea what the problem is, but what a fantastic production and she sure can sing!  Hopefully someone here can help soon.  You've come to the right place.

Do you here the crackles when you play the tune in sonar? This could be caused by recording with the audio buffers set too low. I would post this up in the sonar forum with your specs... computer processor, memory, soundcard etc.

Thank you. She can belt out a good song for a 15 year old. Yes it crackles on playback. It makes the track sound like scratched vinal in places. Could be a good effect if it wasn't for the bubbles/gurgles that also occur. I'll take the advise and try the buffers, and see if that helps. If not I'll try the sonar forum for the next step.. Cheers and Happy New Year.

What mic did you use?

Did it happen to be a USB mic or is it a "normal" mic?

The only issue I heard was in the vocals.... the music playing behind the vox was fine. So the issue, I believe is in the mic itself.
