I have / run v7 , but in 2000 when I was in the industry saw a alpha version of reason v1 @ work when an m-audio rep brought it in... was amazing.. 15 years on, is the first time I'd not upgraded due to I didn't feel they earned the fee of the upgrade, with what was offered. I'd rather wait till I get a grace period update.
their forum has a "features request" bit.. bit pointless as it just seemed they never listened. e.g. I wanted to have a template for stand alone and 1 in rewire mode.
I find it quick to do sketches vs other things.. but I can't NOT do without my vst's.. which without, do make it a bit more stable in ways.
things like recycle I feel they actually made it worse.. they should have gone to make a batch convert mode *and* an audio editor.. I prefer to use the older version of it.
record was a calculated gamble, as they could / did re-use some of the code / libs in reason if it didn't work out.
if people attacking their forum servers gets access to anything else, then I understand why they are doing it. I don't feel loyal to many companies, but I do think they have lost their way a bit.
