Have 30 minutes to kill in Starbucks so I just changed my birthday to today in my Facebook profile and am sitting watching all the fraudulent birthday wishes come in. Think I'll do it again next week and see if anyone notices.

Happy Birthday Sharke,  not too much caffeine while you're wasting your 30 mins..

Wow Sharke, that is low!
Hey, at least it is non-destructive and doesn't cost anyone a dime - unless they buy you a Starbucks coffee!

I confessed, but have nonetheless encouraged everyone to send me gifts regardless.

I have never entered by birthday into facebook, or told it where I work, what I do, my relationship status or where and when I was educated.

Which, going by the number of times it keeps "reminding" me about this obviously annoys facebook's data trawling robot a great deal. Probably because it reduces the financial value to advertisers of the trawled data to whoever facebook wants to sell targeted advertising space to.

Which is one reason why I never entered those details in the first place.

One word: AdBlocker. :) Of course you'll still get the annoying reminders. But it does marvels at cleaning up Facebook. The biggest advantage to me is that it allowed me to get rid of the dreadful "Trending" column. I don't need to be reminded just how stupid we are...
