Why thanks Gene, 'ol pal

(From: Classic Rock):

Kiss star Gene insists world would descend into "chaos" without him and his fellow millionaires

Kiss star Gene Simmons says he's proud to be among the One Percent of the world's richest people – and insists everyone else owes him a debt of gratitude.

The bassist believes the world would descend into "chaos" if it wasn't for him and fellow millionaires.

Simmons tells UTSanDiego.com: "The one percent pays 80 percent of all taxes. 50 percent of the population of the US pays no taxes. The one percent provides all the jobs for everybody else. If the one percent didn't exist there would be chaos and the economy would drop dead."

He adds: "Try being nice to rich people. I don't remember the last poor person who gave me a job."

Describing his 30 years of extreme financial security as "fantastic" he continues: "You know how I spell 'shameless?' P-r-o-u-d."

And he explains: "People often confuse my pride and self-confidence with arrogance. I'm like an animal in the jungle that pisses on the ground and doesn't ask permission. That's full disclosure before the facts – others hold their opinions to themselves and never say who they are. You will always know who I am. You don't have to like it."

Kiss – whose induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame set off an explosion of controversy this year – are touring the US with Def Leppard.

No doubt he believes otherwise but the good news is that the world will keep on spinning just fine when this tedious old windbag falls over dead.

It's quite enlightening to read Paul Stanley's biography as he puts no glove in breaking the myth that Simmons is some kind of business genius, as Simmons himself and some people would want to believe.

A hard-working, disciplined, relentlessly driven self-promoter, yes.

But in terms of business and economics, Stanley doesn't spare his old partner.

To be in the global 1%, all you need is an income of around $34,000. So it's not that hard really. 900 million people in the world live on less than $1.25 a day.

This sounds like he's screwing with us. Isn't he? With comments about not being hired by a poor person, it seems like he really has no clue about logic and reason. He may as well claim that he's never been made 'wet' by having something 'dry' thrown on him... I mean really.

... and chaos doesn't already exist???

Come to think of it, I can't remember the last time a rich person offered me a job.

The one thing that's sad when he says something like that is that Simmons can't use the Mel Gibson defence. He doesn't have the excuse that he was drunk or high because he's always been absolutely straight and always despised drugs and alcohol.

He claims he never ever had a drink and only once was high because he mistakenly ate some brownies which weren't your grandma's recipe... The rest of the guys who've worked with him all agree w/ him on that.

So he comes by it "naturally" then...

And if you add up the total net worth of the wealthiest 80 individual people in the world, they own as much as the least wealthy 50% of the world population--the poorest 3.5+ billion.

Those are the guys who clearly deserve the most credit for the current state of world peace and tranquility that this washed up bass player is claiming. He is not even in the club.
