UPDATE 4/3/2015: SORRY TO TACK ON TO AN OLD POST. I'LL START AN NEW THREAD. THANKS.
Hi.
I have 15 to 20-year-old vocal and acoustic guitar takes recorded on a Yamaha MT-120 4-track cassette recorder that I would like to bring back and use again inside Sonar Producer. Surprisingly, there is not a lot of tape hiss, but there is a little. More troublesome is my having recorded the vocals with reverb. So it's noticeable, and quite frankly, too wet in many cases. I would like to remove (or minimize) it and use something better in Sonar. I also "settled" for some takes and allowed editing and recording noises (pops/clicks). I can also hear headphone bleed in the recordings when I solo a on old track.
So...is RX4 my answer to cleaning all this up? Are there enough extras in RX4 Advanced to really spend the extra cash? I've been watching videos and reviews. In most it seems RX4 is used primarily for dialog. Is it the right tool for this or do I just need to learn how to use the plugins in Sonar better (as well as Nectar 2 Essential which I already have). I really not trying to justify a purchase. I just want to get the best results possible in the least amount of time.
Thanks in advance for your opinions.
Marc
