THE NIGHT FOX

Hi everyone , hope everyone is having a good month just before the Christmas holidays this year .

This song started out slow for me , just wasn't in the creative mood because of all the other stuff going on here at home .
Not sure if I should try to add more to it or just leave it as is , maybe a few of you out there might leave me a comment or a suggestion .
I tried to get the mix right , what do you think ? Thanks for listening , I'll checkback later.

Happy Holidays to everyone - James

Interesting collection of sounds... the mix is very good... all the patches, phrases, and beats sound fine... I think you should develop it into a more musical arrangement...
well done James...

Thanks for the listen and suggestions , I was thinking about messing around with some strings in the second section to help build that up a bit more . My bridge section could use something more in that as well I think .
Any fresh ideals in your head and ears , its been one of those slow creative months for me in Dec .
Thanks again for your comments and suggestions , HAPPY HOLIDAYS - James

A pleasant sounding waltz James. It's a good backing track, but needs a melody to bring it to life.

Yes its a kind of slow one but it doesn't have be any faster as they say above just fill it with some melody.

Thanks but the two verses do have a melody , its the trumpet track playing the
slow melody in each verse unless your talking about my chorus sections .
I have a chord progression track for each of the two verses and then I added a
         trumpet melody track .

your talking about my chorus sections .

Cool groove in 3/4 time!   The trumpet is very legato, but I like it here.  My only crit concerns stereo placement of the instruments.  I think there is room to spread them out, along with the drums, and leave that trumper in the center.  The mix sounds fairly mono to me James.

I like the sparseness of the guitar too.

Good one!

Nice arrangement James.  The trumpet seems as if it could come forward considerably, maybe through less verb on it? The tempo seems to be dragging slightly. Not off beat just seems like it could use a shot of red bull:) JMO. The snare seems to be coming out a lot more than the rest of the kit.

If this is intended as background then it is fine. I'm guessing that your intentions are for it to be mostly an easy listening type of thing.Great job so far!

Thanks for the listen and suggestions , when you say spead them out are you talking about ( panning each track ) in the mix ? I'm guessing thats what you mean by spreading them out .

Thanks -James

Thanks , not sure how to get the trumpet out front more then it is in the mix because it already has compression added to that track .
Have any suggestions how to make that happen ?

Thanks -James
