+1 on the news people going off the rails when it snows. Their eyes roll back in their heads, they love it. The wife and I watched Letterman last night to see all the snow and Times Square was totally empty and there was only 2" on the ground.

Across the bottom of the screen this morning on CNN was the caption "Deadly Blizzard". I wondered how anybody could get killed by a storm with so much advance warning. Turns out, somebody died in a sledding accident. Look for anti-tree legislation come Spring.
 
Meanwhile, this must all be a source of great amusement for Canadians (and probably Scandinavians, too). I imagine somebody in Alberta watching the news..."Look, it's -10 down in Missouri. When was the last time we saw temperatures that high? Back in October, I think. At least we don't have any trees to worry about."

What cracks me up are all the commentators using snowstorms as an argument that global warming is made up BS. How can there be global warming, they ask, when it's so cold at my house?
 
 

 
Yes. It amazes me how so many people still can't get the difference between 'weather' and 'climate'.

Some of the news casters actually apologized for being wrong and scaring everyone. That's a first.

I'm still annoyed at all the idiots in Whole Foods who made my usual grocery shop a living hell because they were pulling everything off the shelves with foam dripping from their mouths as if they were stocking a nuclear bunker. If there's one thing that makes me want to commit mass murder it's people who can't get things in perspective
