Hey guys!

Subject says it all, but I'm interested in what music related sites you visit on a regular basis. Im constantly visiting the same sites over and over again and need something new and hopefully fresh. Any suggestions?

Uncanny or what?

I was just thinking about asking the same thing, these are the forumz that I tend to post (lurk) on in this particular order...

Cakewalk (superheroes)
(no url here, let's think of this as a 'you are here' arrow on a map)

Korg (Kronos '2' in the post) for '2' read 'new' or 'evolved' or 'you can turn the fan off because we punched a hole in the back')

MusicPlayer forums (active and useful)(http://forums.musicplayer.com/ubbthreads.php/forum_summary)

Harmony Central (it's gone downhill since they got rid of the equivalent of bapu's wonderwall thread)

Roland Clan (let's face it Roland's own forum has more tumbleweed than well er, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tumbleweed_(1953_film)

http://forums.rolandclan.com/

and that's about it.

I would love to find more forums like I know already so thanks metz for starting the thread I forgot to post.

Give http://forum.recordingreview.com/ a try. It's mostly kept vibrant by Brandon Drury's no-nonsense reviews, but it's more active than most forums with a fairly good signal-to-noise ratio.

The focus over there seems to be on Logic. It has the most traffic and current events.

Not many.

I'm a member on Gearslutz, but there's just too many self-righteous egos on display most of the time.

Homrecording.com is passable and there's a good few knowledgeable people on there.

Soundonsound.com mainly because I've switched from having a paper copy the magazine to web only

Cakewalk is the only site I participate on

There's mostly great people here, I'm also grateful, thankful for the Forum Host's; their unpaid (voluntary) dedication and assistance.  Forum Hosts are only trying to help and as we all know; humans are not perfect.

That said, due to the openness of the software (forums)....  forums are like magnets that attract drama-queens; vindictiveness, clash of egos and opinions, jealousy, personal snide remarks, the human spell and grammar commandos, the expectation that every human being is equally academically astute, the, the list is very long however {sigh}. Cakewalk is definitely one of the better forums period!. Nonetheless it only takes just one person to derail what was or could have been a great topic. It's no wonder the decision to add Forum Hosts helps somewhat; might spare the Baker's time having to sort out issues that forums are so typically infamous for (as explained above)!

I rather the whole day on a quiet beach reading a manual or any great books about audio and video techniques; anything that helps me learn more about the art of music, the technical side of music and the business, absolutely everything related to all that. So, no matter the decades of experience, I'm still learning something new, it's a continuum that won't end until I'm either 6 foot under or preferably reduced to ashes and scattered across the universe.

Does sound cloud have a chart system if not which one does? I would like to put some songs up in the urban contemporary category.

SoundClick has charts, but they don't mean much because people game the system for the pleasure of seeing their own name on page one. There are even services available to push one's play count up for a fee, if you don't mind giving your credit card to someone in Thailand.
