Was going thru some old synths I hadn't used in a year or so and wondered if UFO had been updated. Purchased the retail version, and at the time, was waiting on their new flagship Eclipsis. Lost track and never followed through.

Got to the website, and now both UFO and Eclipsis are free, or donationware. Eclipsis comes with some sound effect presets with others more traditional, but a powerful synth with the wiring to produce professional pads. GUI takes a few minutes to get used to.

Check it out. Price is right.

They have also Amplio 2, a freeware reverb/eq/saturation plug that is there for download. Tried it and passed on this one.

Was inspired with Eclipsis, their "piano" preset. The presets are too much noise and over modulation for the most part, but a starting point for gold.

Not your go to piano ever. Fake and brittle as hell, but recognition for getting something like a piano coded that is this close. Does not respond across the keyboard appropriately, but can be tweaked under the hood. Increased the sustain and it sounded almost real in a mix. Also thumbs up for the stereo widening of chorus effects.

Couple of the presets are reminiscent of AAS String Machine modeling.
