  • EZDrummer 2 and Platinum - up/down arrows don't work in plugin

I have the latest EZDrummer 2 (2.1.0) and the latest SONAR Platinum (21.1.0 B38).  When I run EZD stand-alone, I can use the up/down arrow keys in the Search window, to move up and down the beat selection ... very handy for auditioning.

However using the EZD plugin version in Platinum, the up/down arrow keys do nothing.

This happens with and without "Give all keystrokes to Plugin" clicked.

(I checked the cakewalk forum, but didn't see any mention of this particular issue.  I also asked on the ToonTrack forum, but didn't get any helpful responses).

Any ideas?

This behavior seems to be inconsistent across the DAW products I tested  I checked the same thing in SPlat, Pro Tools 11 Native, Samplitude Pro X, Studio One 2.5 and they behaved the same way.  Well... actually Studio One used the up and down arrow keys to change focus from one track to the next.  The only DAW host that I own that would allow the arrow keys to scroll the beats in the EZD2 Search window was the Reaper 5 beta.

It looks like the host programs may determine if the arrow keys will be passed through to the plug ins.

Honestly, I never thought to try the arrow keys in the EZD2 Search window.  It would be handy to have that available.

Dave, thanks very much for your efforts!

It's really disappointing that I can't arrow up and down when auditioning.  Try it in the stand-alone version, to see how really useful that can be.

Maybe I'll put in a Feature Request at ToonTrack to at least put in little next/previous buttons ... that would help some.

Thanks again,
Tom
