The imperfections of guitar tuning have always bugged me. I hate the way that if an octave sounds perfect on the A and G strings, a 5th sounds slightly out on the same strings (e.g. if the A and G strings of an open Am sounds perfectly in tune, the A and G strings of an open C sound a little out).

Years ago I learned a tuning trick which averages out all of these imperfections from the classical guys, but for the life of me I can't remember it now. My current philosophy is to tune one string (A) with a tuning fork, then tune every string to that. It seems to work pretty well.

I want truetemperament frets on my guitars. But they say you have to remove the fingerboard layer and attach a new one made especially with this frets. You can even bend like before. I have never tried it tho.
For people not tuning their guitar right, I think its best to let them know and maybe tech them to tune. And explain that the bad tuning is ruining everything.

One of the first things you should learn how to do if you want to play a guitar, is how to properly tune one. 
 
I would hope Gibson would offer normal tuning pegs and have the robo-tuners as an option.   I wouldn't want to use them.
 
I really don't care if you tune using ears and intervals or some sort of electronic tuner.  I prefer to use tuners because they are faster and pretty accurate. Especially if I'm recording....
 
EDIT:  one of the big steps forward with one of my bands in the past.... little 3 piece band.... was when we bought some PA gear and I ended up buying a Conn Strobetuner.....  both the bass player and myself used it to tune at the gig and we were very impressed. Never tuned by ear again.

Kurt Cobain didn't know how to tune a guitar and it worked for him. Could work for you.
