One hell of a game between the Hawks and Green Bay.  The old saying....The game ain't over till its over.

Glad to see the local team doing well, but any objective analysis of yesterday's match would have given the win to Green Bay. They out-played the Hawks for most of the game and only lost it due to a couple lucky plays. Later in the day I watched New England seriously kicking some butt. I haven't checked the Vegas odds, but if I was to put money on the Superbowl, I'd have to go with NE. Fortunately, I don't gamble, so that ethical quandary won't be necessary.

Hawks all the way. In football one learns a lot more about a team by how they respond when they are playing horribly then during a blowout. As horrible as they played, they not only limited a great offense despite giving them the ball 5 times ( I doubt we ever see Wilson throw 4 picks again), but they proved once again that they have no quit in them.  NE blowing out the Colts is not surprising. The Colts simply don't  have the defensive talent to stop them.  If Thomas and Sherman are able to play past injuries, it will be another "you mad, bro" day for Brady.

Btw, although the comeback was statistically improbable, luck is the wrong word. If you regularly  watch them, this kind of thing has been standard last few years. We have come to expect great plays down the stretch no matter how poorly they played prior. How many times in the past 3 seasons have we seen a team driving to the goal only to have a sudden turnover? How many times has Wilson evaded sure sacks to lead game winning drives? 15 4th qtr comebacks in his first 3 seasons goes past statistical probability and into the realm of what has made the greats great. I concede the 2 point conversion probably fails 9 out of ten times, but everything else about that comeback was a matter of timely execution and the ability to put the previous 54 minutes in the past.
