My brother declares at the age of 60 he wants to learn how to play guitar. So I go with him down to guitar center and we find this vintage remake that happens to be a fender squire. typically I would stray away from such guitars but this one plays and feels better then the standard strats they have on the wall. It had Seymour Duncan pickups and it sounded incredible.

So he comes over for his first lesson and after his lesson I plugged his guitar into my system. I wanted to hear what it sounded like going through my setup. He whips out his I-phone and says he wants to take a few pictures of his new guitar while I am playing it.

Today I am cruising through You Tube and what do I see? He shot video of my noodling and uploaded it to You Tube. I am playing a song that I downloaded into my looper and just messing around with his guitar.

I am surprised at how well that little i-phone camera works with just a digital lens. I am also surprised at how good the tone is on this guitar. Now I am thinking about getting one.

Great to see some skilful playing. Nicely done. The only issue with squire is the difficulty in keeping it in tune, or at least mine was.

Foxwolfen I agree, The 100 dollar strat models are not that great. The neck seems strange to me and they do have a problem staying in tune. however I played this guitar for about 30 minutes in guitar center and only had to tune it once. this model squire sells for around 250 and it was just as nice as any strat I have owned in the past. That is what surprised me. Thanks for listening.

LPMike75 Thank you for taking the time to listen and for taking the time to comment.

Danny coming from you I take that as one of the highest compliments. I have a great deal of respect for your ear and your music abilities. I can't tell you just how much I enjoyed the song you and Philip posted. I hope you post more tunes. Your approach to guitar is incredible in my book.

Daryl1968 He has had two lessons so far. I taught him 21 chords and showed him an exercise to learn the names of all the notes on the neck. He is also going through some guitar course on his Mac book through garage band. He is excited to say the least.

GuitarHacker I take arrangements and download them to my looper. Sometimes I play out and I bring the looper along and do what you have seen in the video. of course being a solo act I got to add more flare and do more stuff then what is in the video. A lot of times I am background music and I just play Jazz runs. Your right, that is the kind of song that brings many ideas to the table. Who would have thought that E flat would be so much fun to play in. Thanks for the comments bro.

Mike_mccue yes...Rock The I phone. ok that's the second time today you made me chuckle. Thank you sir.

Jamesg1213 Left hand vibrato is actually easy to master. Thank God for Coffee! lots and lots of coffee. lol Thanks James for listening
