I'd get a bigger tip jar and say, "I won't stop singing till this sucker is running over."  

It also might help to give it a warning shake, and then announce that it looks like you'll have to sing "Wild Horses" until the jar is full. The next couple of passes through the song, slide up to the notes a little more than usual.

This could evolve into something I never thought of! Restaurants! They're trying to eat so they WILL pay more. That's explains a lot about the last gig. Unfortunately the next gig the patrons may be intoxicated and not care so I need coffee  made. Casinos won't work either so  Restaurants is the key to it all! ha haha haha   HA HA HA HA HA ha ha ha ha HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
