Group 1 works fine here (VST2).

The (rather thorough) test :
Added VCC modules to existing VMR instances (basically, modified presets):
1) VCC Mixbuss on Master, VCC Mixbuss on a bus, VCC Channel on a track, link on, all set to group 1, VCC Channel on another track, not grouped, close project, open project = Group 1 settings stay the same.
2) Adjust linked in/outs, adjust drive, close, open = Group 1 adjustments remain - ok
3) Unlink, adjust output, close, open = Group 1 adjustments remain - ok
4) Remove bus's VCC Mix Buss, change to VCC Channel , assign to Group 1, close, open = All Group 1's settings stay the same.

Repeat above 4 - exit then restart Sonar (rather than just close/open project) same Group 1 results - all ok.
Repeat above 4 with just VCC in VMR by itself - same results - all ok.

Thanks for checking this for me, Jeff.  I wonder what it could be about my particular installation.  The same issue in three different hosts.

What is the Version number of your installation?

I think the fact that I set my Default to start of with VCC in Group 1 is maybe causing my problem.  If I set it to none, I don't seem to see the issue.  If I set it to Group 1, I get an random incident where the Input and Output will reset to zero.

I might be trying to get it to do something it wasn't intended to do.

Eddie, now that Bapu is Steven, care to compare Waves NLS to Slate VCC 2.0 ?
TX
(I mean: thanks)

They're both very cool, but I prefer VCC for the more subtle and, to my ears, realistic effect.  It's very easy with NLS to overdo things and muddy up your mix.  NLS is good for a more obvious coloration if that's what you're after.  But for me, VCC is the best of the console emus when workflow, GUI, resource usage, stability, and sound are considered.  Nebula is great for console emulations as well, but it's a whole other can of worms.  VCC is a lot more user-friendly.

After more testing of VCC 2.0, I'm really digging the sound of the new E desk model.  Very SSL-ish.

Cheers,
Eddie

Version 1.0.8.18 on all 7 modules.

When I installed, I only installed the 2 VCC modules, but it rendered the other ones in VMR inactive (red "x" instead of the white "i" under the module name).

I just reinstalled (overlaid) them all and they came back just fine.
Didn't need to re-iLok them.

Dave -
I can replicate your error by setting it up as you describe.

Insert VCC Channel - linked, i/o at 10 & 2:00, save current as default.
Remove from fx bin.
Insert it, and VMR fires up unlinked and i/o both set to -18.

EDIT:
Actually, it resets even if I don't assign a group to the default ...or set another Group (i.e. 4) when saving as default.
Everything gets reset to fully counterclockwise, except for the Group number (if any was set when saving to default)

My reason for wanting to default to Group one for any new VCC is so that I could set up a template with VCC across the board and then at some point toggle the bypass or change models to hear the effect.

Cheers Eddie, great advice as always. Sold my NLS and now I feel no remorse :)

I guess I don't get the idea of the groups.
