I'm more concerned about the sound than price.
American D is my fav & the one to beat IMO.

At first I saw the ilok monster ready to nip at our heels again and so I damn near ran for the hills, but then I saw that they also offer alternate method as well.

Smart thinking boys, because if it was $200 clams AND ilok only - well - I think we all can do the math pretty quickly from there.

Hi bmog. It's as bapu said in the other thread. Download and install the uvi player. Download and install the ravens croft. Remember to activate the ravenscroft license to I lok.

Open uvi player in sonar. Open ravens croft from the UVI gui. If you have installed rcroft to a strange folder you will need to fiddle the uni prefs so it can see it. Good luck, it's a really nice virtual piano to play :)

I feel silly now the issue was I was using the 32 bit version of X3e and not the 64 bit version.  When I used the 64 bit version and pointed my scan to the libraries where they lived everything came up and worked great.  What i noticed about Ravencroft tho is it plays better with ASIO drivers than WDM. I normally stay away from ASIO drivers if I can in X3e but for this project I changed the driver set to ASIO so far so good

What is your method of mixing the Ravenscroft virtual instrument. I am cutting my teeth with the simple instrument setup. I get confused as to how can I EQ the sound, do I EQ the midi track?  The audio portion is not available unless you freeze the track so what is the best method for EQ and applying effects?  Thanks in advance for your help?

Check at the bottom of the Track Inspector - there should be an Audio and MIDI tab.  Based on what you've described, you probably have the MIDI tab active.

So do you mix the midi or the audio? I read you should bounce the midi if I understood that correctly which turns it into audio and then bring it back into the project is that correct?  What does the freeze option do then, I know it creates a wave file but can effects be applied to the frozen audio created file?
