Maybe it's because I'm not experienced enough, but I find synths with step sequencers in them and pre-made beats to be off-putting. It makes me feel like I have a lack of control over the synth. I was messing around with Hybrid 3 and felt this way.
It's a feature though, if you know how to use it. I just wish I had more control and things weren't so pre-packeaged is all. I guess when I master the synth it wont be an issue anymore.

Personally I hate pre-made loops of any kind, but a step sequencer can really be a good and powerful tool since you can edit the steps as you will. 
 
I've heard people deleting every preset a synth has just so that they can start learning how to really use the instrument... :)
