I recently did a wipe of my studio computer due to the C: drive filling up.. A host of versions of software was causing some issues, and it hadn't been done in a looong time. So I reinstalled Sonar platinum and I have it talking to my soundcraft compact quite quickly. BUT.. I use the V700C to run my daw.. I am still using windows 7 pro. I updated the USB driver to 2.0 and made sure the console had the latest driver 1.31 (I think). Its all taking to each other but, the controls are out of whack... for example, If I use the switches on the console to flip back and forth between TRACK VIEW and CONSOLE VIEW, the console view adds another track...????.. The console is showing up in the midi devices, but the console is not showing up in "Control surfaces, " If I'm not mistaken, it use too.. Although the midi ports DO show up in said window  HELP..LOL

I grabbed and installed... A lot more versions of control surfaces came up, but still no V700... used the basic mackie control and the same results as before... but it seems to be the only one working at all ...just not correctly.. Thanks for the help Scook

Thanks for your question and posting STRATRAT1. I too recently wiped and rebuilt my DAW and did not have the control surface plugin (why is not included in Sonar Platinum?) . I probably should have posted in the user forum but instead I opened up a support ticket with Cakewalk back in June which yet has been addressed by them. Has anyone else noticed how poor their support is?

The issue I am having with the control surface version 1.2 (and I am wondering if anyone else has this issue with 1.2) is that the physical Master bus slider/fader on the 700C moves the Mater bus in the application. However the inverse of this is not true... meaning... when I move the master bus in the application the physical master bus on the 700C does not move. I vaguely remember this from when SonarX1 was around and I believe the control surface version 1.3 resolved this issue.

Does anyone know or have access to control surface version 1.3 other than installing SonarX1 update B?

Rebuilding this has been an exercise in frustration - thanks Cakewalk (for nothing!).

I'm just setting up a new machine and have been on Platinum for a while... old machine running fine but I seem to be in a similar predicament... the V700 software that is on the disk that came with my gear will not run on Windows 7. Am thinking the only course left is to de-install Platinum and go back to Sonar X1. I'm running two V700r's and although I'm getting signal from them, not having the software for the V700c is leaving that unresponsive.

Very disappointing that support for the V700 is no longer available. Went to an old M-Audio product today that I had sitting on the shelf, downloaded the latest drivers and boom! I had the new project started on my new machine... still want my console though, spoiled I guess.

OH, I didn't know the 1.3 version does exist. I always have and had the problem with the master fader. You mean the problem will solve if I  install the 1.3 version?
does anybody know where we can find the standalone control surface version 1.3 driver?

Is it a driver or just the firmware update?

There is one 1.30 firmware update which is totally different but as I searched now there is one driver for the control surface which is bundled with sonar x1b.
I would love to find just the update instead of installing the X1b. I am running my vs700 console and rack with Platinum on win 8.1 but I always have the problem with my master fader on my console which doesn't move.
I emailed several times to Roland and Cakewalk but no solution.
Both Roland and Cakewalk logos are on this set. Specially Cakewalk's logo is larger than Roland which somehow says it is the cakewalk product. I expect at least Cakewalk try to solve the issue by updating the driver for windows 10.
You know how many users are suffering from the lack of the driver and are not happy with the decision have made by Roland and Cakewalk to stop supporting this wonderful product. Solving this small issue can make lots of users all over the world happy.
Honestly, I don't even mind to pay to buy the fixed update for my control surface and a new updated driver for my   v-s700 Rack to work with windows 10. I am sure there are lots of bugs in the old vs-700 rack driver that need to be fixed.
