Big heads up for keyboard players using your own samples. Off to work so haven't tested yet, but could be great. Also free.

Uh...

Finding this a bit less than intuitive...

Was hoping to have something to load as a vst and drag and drop samples for sfz export. Had used the ancient Disco HiLife SFZ creator with good results minus having to dial everything in by text. SFZ Designer is a stand alone ap. Can't open it in Sonar.

Might still work, just haven't figured it out yet. Will report back from the trenches.

It looks interesting.

Report back, and bummed out...

This software was potentially the closest thing to SFZ nirvana on the horizon at first glance.
All the text entries discarded and replaced by beautiful drag and drop functions.
Velocity levels to die for with multitimb layers across a region.

Then the bad news...
You can't hear what you are doing. Can't hook it up to a keyboard. Can't get the mouse to press a key to listen to what you are creating.

Relies upon an external player to load the SFZ creation to see what you have done blind and deaf, then go back into the dark to hit and miss again.

Maybe a great tool for SFZ diagnostics since will load for instance a Dim Pro SFZ, get an overview of what is going on and make a few tweaks, though by intuition, not by ear.

This thing could be so great, but useless for real time creation because of the limitations.

Somebody prove me wrong if you have played with this and found a way to hear what you are building. Back to HiLife for now.
