Agree that the drums could be a little stronger in the mix (or is that just because my ears have been deprived of the metal genre for so long...can't remember what they're supposed to sound like).

The guitar sounds awesome! I take it those are humbuckers, because I'm NEVER getting that kind of tone out of my Telecaster, TH2 or not

Great solo playing, a little Mustaine influence in there methinks?

PS I wouldn't worry about the Soundcloud waveform. If your mix is pretty dense (and any metal mix is going to be) then I think it's always going to look like that.

@sharke... Thanks, man. Yup, it's the Seymour D bridge humbucker on my Pacifica. Been kind of wrestling with the axes because it's fretting out a bit and needs a new nut but the pickups are great. Dude who owned it before me modded it out pretty sweet... and Megadeth was one of my favorite bands as young skid. I preferred Friedmans style but the hands don't work quite as fast as they used to so yeah... probably more Mustaine these days. Cheers!

I really like Mustaine's playing. I always liked his phrasing and the notes he played, more so than his technique. I once read that him and his buddy used to smoke pot and go to jazz clubs, so maybe he's picked up a little of that.

Plus he got thrown out of Metallica for being too badass which is +1000 in my book.

Thank you muchly Mr. Daryl. :-)

You too digi2ns... I may revisit it tomorrow but I really should start tearing my place apart. Gotta lot of crap to do in the next few weeks. Needed to get a sense of completion on this one before getting too distracted by the meatworld. :-)

Ha... yeah. Metallica kind of turned out to be wankers. Dave was always bad ass. Very angry and talented dude. I think he's one of those guys who was OBSESSED with guitar and despite his somewhat clunky fingers he always chased perfection. I can relate to that.

Man... I can't even remember the last time I used earbuds. I don't think I could handle them anymore. My ears are too cranky these days. I think they'd go on strike if I tried to cram some in. Even the nice cans kind of bug me. I think I used them briefly like four or five times this entire project just to check some edits.
