The first (and last) time I watched Mr. West perform, it was some live TV show. The engineer forgot (I'm giving him the benefit of doubt) to turn off the Autotune at the end of the song, causing Kanye's witty remarks to the audience to sound like, well, use your imagination.

Even my class of 12 year old Vietnamese kids new who Paul McCartney and The Beatles were, unfortunately, no idea who John Lennon was or the others.

On the bright side, they probably don't know who Yoko Ono is either

I went to YouTube and listened to some of three different vids trying to hear K & P's single. But I don't think any of what I heard was it. All of them stank to high heaven and none had a discernible Macca in them. Just as well. I did read some lyrics that were childishly embarrassing and bereft of interesting or novel thought. Imagine that.

'CurvedDaily' also wrote (apparently)

“Come on guys, the whole thing was a joke and you’ve gone too far, i LOVE the beatles, paul mccarthy, ringo star, jay leno and the other one.”

And again:

“Imagine I pissed off 2300 people, that’s more people than the whole population of the USA!!!!!”
And one more: “Guys please leave me alone, I love the Beatles ok! smells like teen spirit is one of my favorite songs!! stop telling me don’t know music.”

The user, frustrated his fairly obvious trolling wasn’t detected, finally gave up, tweeting:

“I have lost hope in the human race''

I'm sure the posted tweets were a joke. We've seen it before: "I just found out Paul McCartney was in another band before Wings!"

The gag works because it lets us feel superior to kids who seem to think Kanye has a talent beyond self-promotion. Truth is, all the teens (and some pre-teens) I know are well-aware of who McCartney is, as well as the Beatles and Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. Sadly, they typically do not know Ravel, Tchaikovsky, Holst or Wagner.

Did someone mention Wagner??
