That's what I guess 'll happen, Rock. Not touching credits but changing prices. Interestingly enough, their last email seems to indicate some may get lowered. So maybe we're in for a nice surprise.

Also,

Everyone is well aware of how well IK keeps their word....

(2009 - SampleTank 3 is in the works and coming soon!)
(2013 - there will be NO SAMPLETANK 3 FREE)
(Also, if you sell something you've earned Jampoints for, even if it's years later,
they take the Jampoints back, and will maintain a negative balance until you've
purchased enough to get you "back out of the hole"...what kind of BS is that?)

etc...ad nauseum....

I LOVE IK Products, and Pete's a great guy who's just doing his job...one day...they'll wake up...and stop the BS'ing
(I Hope - I think IK loves the "vague technicality loophole scenario", politicians do too! )

Anyways...here's to GREAT Products and rhetoric...

Aye aye, Sir Larry! At least you remember what happened before, so maybe they'll learn a lesson or two

Again, we're not taking away any Gear Credits from you if you have them.  I hope that is clear enough this time.

Also, we've been over the ST3 Free (it was in context of the SampleTank 2.x free version that was out - release years after the initial SampleTank 2 release - and in context of one that imports legacy libraries which was specifically being discussed, and that is still the case).  When you last mentioned it, I had I.T. look at JamPoints and they are not to take you into a negative at any point and support can help if that is the case (which was suggested when it was mentioned), and yes JamPoints you got from something you sell will be removed, that doesn't seem so out of the question and they will expire as per the stated policy (and we remind about this when it is going to happen) and that is still not to take you into the negative so if a glitch occurred it could be handled by support.  And SampleTank 3 was late, we realized that and have released it and here we are.  I think that covers those alleged "misdeeds" by IK and IK's word being kept.  If alerted to a negative JamPoints balance, IT's word that isn't supposed to happen would have been upheld after review of your specific situation.  If that did not happen, your support request could have and can be escalated.

I do thank you for the kind words and hope that this clarification doesn't cloud those sentiments.

Wow Lar, as you see, Peter's a great guy indeed. Must have been a record in customer care reaction time :)
As for SampleTank 3, I'm quite happy with the time it took, 'cause I really love the final product as a workstation.
And SampleTank 3 Free? Well, the fact they did launch it after maybe deciding not to at first, is a good thing. I see it as a company listening to its customers. A lot of people were ranting that it wouldn't come, so IK launched SampleTank 3 Free as well as LE. Also, their way of telling people that prices will go up in advance is a good thing. Not many companies do this. In fact it's awkward in a way. Companies that don't tell people in advance don't get the rants, and those who do, do. Life is funny

Well, I'm not happy with the time it took but my ****ing didn't help either - it was to be late as it was and that's not going to change that it was nor will it change how unhappy a lot of people were about that.  I don't mean to sound like I'm saying "get over it" I'm definitely not going to expect THAT from anybody, just that it is out thank whatever made that happen at least and that it can be used now by those who did wait and end up purchasing it.  We also have some more sound libraries coming out that I've seen and heard details of so that's another thing that should happen ASAP and I'm sure I'm not the only one impatient about that part either.  Larry's got good points all around.

I'm also not discrediting Larry's opinion about SampleTank 3 Free and how it did look like there might be a good possibility of one that could import - but that would have been long before the lead-up to the actual release (which was also, admittedly, quite the long a haul) and I did my best to course correct and tried to be clear that there wouldn't be one that imported at the time of release.  The best estimate I could give, and I don't know if there will ever be one even to this day based on any information I have, is that it would follow the trajectory of the 2.x free version that imports which didn't get released for years after the initial ST2 release.  That's the best I can do on that topic, and I hope I'm being clear in that some of that is still speculation on my part but trying to share any insight I can without getting hopes up or improperly dashing them either.  I'd say it would still be far off as we're still on the cusp of releasing more libraries for ST3 so there's that road to travel for a while at least.

But back to the topic at hand, we're also listening on this topic and have certainly learned from the experience and know what to clarify up front next time (but personally I hope any pricing adjustment's "next time" is far off in the future).  I've spoken directly (well typed, I suppose) to quite a few of the participants in this thread and hope I can remain helpful going forward.  I apologize if any of the previous message seemed at all unhelpful, as is sometimes the case when communicating via forum/typing and trying to be as succinct as possible (and not really succeeding there or in this message :) ).

You're a stand up guy, Peter. Now I remember the discussion about Sampletank 3 Free's capacity to import the older libraries. But indeed, you corrected that one, and such things happen, which is normal over a long period of time.
As for your last paragraph, well that's the reason why I believe your participation in these forums is invaluable. You tend to listen to the arguments in these topics and discuss them with your colleagues at IK. This way the arguments are not only interesting for us, users, but also for you as employees. And in the end more good products may come out of it for us :)

Oops, though I apologize that I used an apparently bad word.  Let's just pretend I said "griping" ;)

It looks like this is turning out to be very positive and I look forward to seeing what IK is introducing in 2015. Hoping for a Great year for all!

I've seen some nice progress on AmpliTube and T-RackS so as long as they keep the train a-rollin' and the quality on par with the latest T-RackS gear, it should definitely be a great year for gear from IK.
